In a student environment shaped by individuality, expression, and shared experience, Your Three Words was developed as a campaign concept for Nottingham Trent Students’ Union (NTSU) to encourage students to define themselves through simple, meaningful self-expression. This case study explores the creative development of a campaign designed to foster engagement, spark conversation, and create stronger emotional connection between students and the union.

Designing for Student Expression.

As younger audiences increasingly engage with brands and institutions that feel authentic, participatory, and community-driven, traditional awareness campaigns must evolve beyond passive messaging. Your Three Words set out to create an accessible and memorable campaign framework that invited students to actively reflect on identity, personality, and belonging through a simple but highly shareable concept. Through strategic campaign thinking, visual identity design, and audience-focused storytelling, the project aimed to transform a simple prompt into a meaningful engagement experience.
